Township Clerk Adam Wit

Adam Wit grew up in Harrison Township and graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School. Adam earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Michigan State University while working as a legislative aide for then State Representative Jack Brandenburg. After college, Adam returned to his hometown and began working as Deputy Supervisor for Anthony G. Forlini and Kenneth Verkest.

Adam found he had a passion for local government management so he returned to school to earn a Master of Public Administration degree from Oakland University. Adam’s hometown pride led him to decide to stand for election when he was first elected Township Clerk in 2012 and re-elected in 2016.

Adam and his wife Sarah, a school social worker, are proud to be raising their two sons in Harrison Township. Adam is member of St. Hubert Parish, the Knights of Columbus and served as President of Macomb County Habitat for Humanity.

During his time as Clerk Adam has continued his education, to be able to provide the best service for Township residents, earning both the prestigious Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk and the international Certified Municipal Clerk designations. Adam’s dedication has been recognized by his peers who have elected him to serve as the President of the Macomb County Clerks Association and currently as a director of the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks.

Adam is honored to serve his hometown as Township Clerk and is committed to lead with integrity and efficiency.
